Fine, it may not be "temporary" home, but that does not mean it cannot be abandoned. An example would be of someone building a home which they expected to live in for a while, then getting lost and building somewhere else a decent distance away (I did this myself. It does happen). Another would be building something as a home, and switching to a different server and forgetting its existence.Alizée Fan wrote:The fact that somebody disagrees with you doesn't mean they didn't read your posts - it means they disagree with you - simple as that. That home is signed, illuminated, and has a chest full of stuff in it. It isn't built in a "temporary" style, and it has an accompanying melon farm. Nothing about it suggests abandoned.
In both scenarios, the home is pretty much abandoned, is it not?
Is it fair to ask their permission to claim the now unused structure since they no long reside in it?
Previously in the thread: 1: I asked about a stone tower which had not been worked on in months and was able to claim it. I started to work on it after I had the permission to do so.Previously in this thread you've expressed similar desires about a number of other inhabited and active structures, so it's to be expected that people would be wary here. Obviously it's fine if you want to ask, but it feels like you regularly assume that anything near you should be up for grabs unless otherwise stated, when the opposite ought to be the case.
2: I asked about a cobblestone building which also had not been worked on in months and was able to claim it. I started to work on it and converted to a home for my friend Blaze Fox.
3: I asked about a building complex which I assumed to be made by the same folk who made the tower, and thus abandoned it. Bullet came and claimed it as an area he was working on with his friends and had not been on for a while because of school. I did not touch it.
Currently in the thread: I am waiting for Kefiramoon to say something about this possibly abandoned structure, not doing anything other than taking a few pictures as a reference and asking if she is still living there. People are coming in all high and mighty and saying to leave it be because there's so much more map to use, meanwhile I'm only asking because I want to know if I can help her (with my local, already established resources) or, if she has moved on and only then, take it over and possibly incorporate it into a new building project.
I'm not assuming that any structure near mine is up for grabs. I am asking "Is it?".
