With the new bubbling action of Soul Sand, it is now possible to drive a boat uphill. Here's a screenshot of my test setup:

The stream on the right has Soul Sand at the bottom. You can place a boat and drive it right on up. The left just has Stone at the bottom; you can place a boat and it will not go up, just underwater.
Application? I'm not sure, but perhaps someone else will think of that.

Oooh, nice. A clever use of the bubble column to build a "stair case" for boats

Thats sweet, I was thinking of making a boat race track and having an event one evening....that gives me a few ideas
