String Theft

So down in my collection room on Stevo's server, I have some chests that I stockpile mass quantities of items from my mob trap.

Now, I don't mind people using the collection room when I'm not there. Better for someone to get use out of it rather than it just sitting there. But I ask please, do not steal from my stockpile chests! (I even have signs asking to please not steal from them)

3 large chests of string is now missing! And it happened sometime in the last couple of days, because those chests were full last time I was on.

One reason I was stockpiling string is in case it gets another use with a future update. If you want string, take your own time to stand and collect it yourself! 3 large chests of string takes a long time to re-collect...

They were just after the string, too. None of the sulfur or arrows seems to be missing.

Jeez, what's with the un-Villunlike behavior of late? I haven't been on in a bit (waaaay busy with school, gf, and new games), but have we been overrun with non-regs or something? Oi :-/

You've always been very kind about letting the rest of us use your spawner. Sorry to hear what happened, Marf.

Could be connected to the incident Blah had. String can be combined to make wool and as I recall wool was indeed used in the vandalism.

Actually, up until now I haven't specifically told anyone but you that they could use my spawner, partly because of the possibility of theft. I didn't want to encourage people to go down there, then be tempted by the chests. It's such a pain to have to hide my warehouse, it's nice to have it in the same room as the collection point.

Although I was setting up to allow public use of it, I was even going to build a rail track to it from the Failway for easy access. The thought crossed my mind to trap the chests, but I figured "Nah, I don't need to. Villuns are cool people."

No, this theft happened after that. As I said, the string was still there last time I logged in, and that was after I saw the thread about Blah's vandalism incident. It literally happened in the last day or two.

I'm not really sure who could have done it, but I certainly don't mind letting my dude sit idle in spawner to recollect it for ya. I imagine it shouldn't take too long to get at least most of it back.
