I need to reinstall Firefox 3, or maybe go back down to 2.3 as FF3 will not save any more bookmarks or anything... its rather disappointing. BUT.... Firefox or I dont browse.

When I click tools, internet options is at the bottom of the drop-down menu. I think the problem is that you're using IE.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that you cant even open internet explorer anymore to make it your default browser yeah?

Go to Start -> Run -> type in "iexplore" (without quotes of course) and IE will open up.. Then you can set it back to be your default... you poor poor thing.

Conversely you could stay in the Light and get IE tab for Firefox (an add on that loads internet pages in IE but keeps the Firefox browser). Forsake your heathen ways and stay with FireFox! 8)

Amen brother! :D

Mr Blah:

On the FF 3 bookmarks thing it could be a borked profile. You can change your Firefox profile by changing your Firefox shortcut to run:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2\firefox.exe" -ProfileManager

Start firefox and a profile manager will appear. You don't have to delete you current profile -- just create and use a new one. Then you can try all the functionality that was broken. Hopefully, that should fix the problems. That does mean that you would have to install your desired extensions into your new profile.

You can also export your bookmarks from your old profile (restart Firefox and choose old profile), then import them into the new one.

When you're all done, you can delete the original profile.

That's the best solution, IMHO ;)

But if you want to change back to IE as default Web Brower...

First run IE, the go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Select "Programs" tab -> Check the box at the bottom "IE should check to see whether it is the default browser"

I use firefox primarily, but I still use IE occasionally because some websites work better with IE.
