The Vile Best viewed in?

when i try to view the Vile in IE i always get "the page cannot be viewed" when i click the little symbol to goto new posts and it generally runs slow an stuff but when i view it in ff i get none of the problems and it all loads fast

so switch fully to ff?
no ff fails to display half of the other site i visit properly but ie does display them correct

the solution view all sites in IE till it comes to checking on the ville where i close ie open ff and brows

kinda annoying to be honest

can anyone offer any other solutions?

I'd say switch to FireFox. IMO, it's more stable and more user-friendly. I loathe IE. It's buggy.

I'd recommend installing the IE Tab plugin for FF. Here's the link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419/

Once you install that, you can switch to IE within FireFox by clicking the icon in the lower right corner. That makes it much easier to switch browsers for certain sites.

I also recommend viewing the Ville in 3B. In fact I think we should have a 3 beer minimum here as a rule

IE used to be fine, but lately the ville has gotten unresponsive at times. I don't think it's a browser thing so much as less than optimal hosting.

but as i pointed out in my origional post FF doesn't display some of the sites i visit correctly

Okay, it's good to hear I'm not the only one having issues with the Ville in IE!

Here's an observation: it loads just fine in IE during the day when I'm at work. It's only in the evenings that it craps out. Maybe it just gets hit harder at night.

M_G_P, I've had the same experience trying to switch to FireFox full time. There are just way too many sites that have issues.

It doesn't do that for me. Sometimes it just takes forever+24hours for it to respond when I click a link in the forums or use my back button.

Nothing on the Ville has changed in the past while.
So I have no idea what's up with stupid useless, pointless buggy IE.....
