Poor Potato's setup

Post by ADevilishPotato » Sun Dec 08, 2013 10:01 pm

Howdy folks. So unfortunately I think that Mr Mouse and Mr Keyboard are finally kicking the bucket. They have had a very long (~10 year) run and are starting to fall apart. So I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions about both a new keyboard and new mouse. Thanks a ton you guys :D

My personal preference is for a high-end mouse and a very basic keyboard. I love the G5/G500 mice from Logitech, and use one of them on every computer I own. They've been working well for years now - can't recall ever having an issue. I also use Logitech keyboards, but just basic stuff like the K120.

Mice are all over the board when it comes to who likes what. I have large hands and a mouse that is too narrow makes me angry, and crampy in my hand. I have always opted for larger, wider mice. Right now I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder X8. Excellent mouse, trouble free, nice and wide and has all the buttons I need right where I need them. It came with extra weights that you add to it, I like my mice nice and heavy. I've been very satisfied with it. After using it about six months, I bought a second one, it's sitting in the box ready to go for when this one eventually bites the dust.

I echo Alizee's comments about keyboards. Logitech makes great, inexpensive, long lasting ones. I'm currently using a G510, nice and sturdy, great features and programmable "G" keys in very comfortable places. I'd recommend looking at one if you like to do a bit of customizing, and like a few extra features.

I also use a Logitech G510 and I have been very happy with it. For a mouse I use a Razer Deathadder 2013 and I would recommend it.

Check http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales for about a week, you will find some sales on nice mice and keyboards.

I have a cheap-o wireless mouse (Logitech M510) and this keyboard, which I love. I would definitely spend a few more bucks on a mechanical keyboard. Your fingers and wrists will thank you for it after a nice 3+ hour gaming session.
