Windows 8 apps

So Windows 8 has been pretty good to me so far, but lately it's been having a problem in the metro apps where there's a black background and some things are covered up by a black box covering a large portion of the screen. Anyone have any advice on this issue? My computer has an Nvidia geforce GTX 660m with 2gb GDDR5 vram and my processor is an intel core i7 3630 QM if that information will help with anything. I think it could be related to the last graphics driver update, but I can't remember if the problem started right when the last driver update was.
