So i'm building a new system asap. The items listed will the the only items attached and used. I'm contemplating a 650-750 watt but am not sure and want some villun help. Modular would be nice but please post a link to the part in newegg and I'd appreciate it. I'm ordering it in about a week or less. Different PSU calculators have told me anywhere from 500-570 watts but I figure asking all the knowledgable villuns out there would be best.

I'd say a 750W Corsair. Most people here seem to really like the Corsair PSU's, and I am inclined to agree with them. PSUs from Thermaltake and Silverstone have brought good reviews as well.

750 is overkill with a stock Ivybridge cpu and a 660TI. I'm running a GTX570 and 2500k stock on a 650 and both use more juice than what he is buying.

That's a nice one. Single rail is the way to go!

They are both single +12V rail, and one is 10 bucks cheaper than the other.

Refuel what case are you going to be using?

Seasonic is pretty much one of the most reliable power supplies you can buy. They are so good in fact that most Antec, Corsair, Cooler Master, PC Power and Cooling, SilverStone and Zalman power supplies are really just rebranded Seasonic power supplies.

Edit: In fact the one Clay linked to is the exact one I am using. It's so efficient that it rarely generates enough heat for the fan to turn on.

I'm a bit poor so i figured this would be the best option. 60 bucks. No window to get scuffed up. I want to devote the bulk of my limited money to the key parts so my cases have always been on the budget side. If I spent more than 75 on a case I think i'd have a heart attack.

I've never built a system where the PSU installs on the bottom of the case before. Should be fun to build though.

My current system has a non modular 750w corsair which has been rock solid. Probably the only part of my whole system that has worked correctly. Only negative is the sheer amount of additional cables I had to stow away.

Both recommendations look good. Time to compare and contrast.

Also I just realized a rather off thing. I'm almost 35 and have played with apple IIe's (PR#6), IIgs, mac, played with 386s, 486s, pentium 1s/2/3s and everything under the sun. I've rocked everything from dos to win 3.11/9x/2k/me/etc... but for the first time in my life I am actually going to pay for an operating system legit with this build. That seems really odd to me

Well, at least you get a really cheap Windows 8 upgrade once it comes out.
