Earbuds?

I'm looking for a great, decent priced pair of noise-canceling, canal type ear-buds. You know, the ones that stick right in your ear, not ones like these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6826106485.
I fall asleep with my IPod, I go to school with it. I listen to my IPod before and after work. I listen to it every chance I can get, but those small silicon cushions keep detaching, and I loose them.
I'm getting better at keeping track of them, but I wish all brands had those backup cushions.
I am asking for assistance in shopping for a new pair of ear buds that range from $10-$50. I also don't want people bugging me to turn my music down, nor do I want them to hear residual music from the outside of my earbuds. That is one pet peve of mine.
Any help? and any questions for me to elaborate further?
Thanks.

Can't go wrong with the companies Shure or Grado, they make multiple models. You pay for what you get, but whatever price point you go with those are good brands.

I have an excellent pair of Sennheiser CX 300-II Precision earbuds I just bought. Cheap yet extremely good sound (if you know skullcandy, it's a good 2 notches above that level of quality).

I've determined the only benefit you get out of the $100 Bose pair is that they don't fall out of your ear/they cancel noise really well/they are comfortable and conform to your ear. Otherwise, not worth the extra $50.

Thanks for the info on Bose. I was really thinking about it. but $100 is too far. I've never heard of Shure, and I am looking more into it.

I wouldn't spend more than $40. Or try not to. SHURE makes awesome earbuds/were the first to have that cup design that so many earbuds have these days.

If you are constantly using your iPod, $50-$75 is a good price range. I can remember going up in earphone quality and hearing things I hadn't heard before in my music.

It's kind of cool.

But really almost anything is an upgrade over stock buds. Just stay away from the skullcandy stuff like others have mentioned.

Disagree, I've gotten headphones in a variety of price strata and you absolutely pay for what you get. If you enjoy music get what you can afford, and don't get Bose, poor cost/benefit at any price point.

That being said I know both Shure and Grado have models in the sub-$100 price range.

I would say based off of everything I've read, Shure and Sennheiser tend to have the best product value. You can get a very good product for the same price as a number of cheaply made colorful products from other "well-known" companies.
