...then this is a hell of a deal:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231314
8GB (2x4GB) of G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 for $40, with free shipping and no MIR or other crap to mail in. I've got 24GB of this stuff in my main box here, and the only reason I'm not buying more on this deal is because I don't have any place to put it.
If you've been thinking about adding RAM to your system, and you can use DDR3 1600... seriously, buy this.

Why do you have 24GB of RAM?

Why not put a jet engine on a bicycle? Why not have a cruise liner anchor on a dinghy? Why not have a glass revolving door entrance for a Radio Shack?
There a many, many reasons why not.
Still the deal does look good. I might up my RAM with this.

Yeah, it's a bit like using a flatbed semi when a Toyota pickup will do the job.
8GB or even 12GB for enthusiasts is plenty. Even when using programs like Solidworks or various other 3D modeling programs its hard to run above those amounts.

Because I can.
It's the same reason people put chrome on cars. It's unnecessary and showy, but they like it anyway. Unlike chrome, however, somewhere down the line, RAM may be useful

I don't blame you buying that if it is $40 though. $120 for 24GB of DDR3-1600, that's a great deal.
