Laptop sounds: Fan maybe?

Well, while installing Cod Mw2 on my laptop, I cam across a very unusual sound. I think my fan might be faulty, or too dusty. I don't know, but the sound kinda sounds like when your car starts up, and you hear the 'chuga' sound, but continuous. Now, I don't know a thing about laptops, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

hmm, there aren't a ton of fans in laptops. from my limited knowledge of laptops it sounds like it could be a HDD or DVD drive.

Ouchie, yeah... if it's the "chugga chugga" sound I'm thinking of, it's gonna be a drive motor :-/ HDD spindle or DVD drive, I couldn't tell you from that, but probably one of those.

which while hdd sounds bad...at least its easier to replace than a laptop fan

Yes well, the sounds have stopped... but now my CoD Mw2 Multiplayer will not load :/ ill give a screen in a second

COD not loading doesn't tell us anything. It coulda been a corrupted sector on the HDD, it coulda been misread on the DVD drive, it coulda been a bit of corrupted data, it coulda been a lot of different things. Reinstall it and then come back.
