Re: need some help for new PC
For about $1,000 I built my PC this past xmas..
got the intel I5 overclocked and the ATI 5850 (overclocked when needed)... great combination except the ATI drivers are a little messy!
They run great except the fan software for the 5850 is a bit annoying.... for newer games, I have to increase the fan speed manually or it will over heat. I wish it would recognize it's overheating but for some reason it's stubborn.

Ya your computer sounds pretty decent. A quick farily cheap upgrade would probably be to upgrade to a quad core phenom instead of a dual core. The price has gone down alot and it would probablyake it alot faster. Idk what games you play but 5870 is probably good enough for what's out there now. It just doesn't have support for dx11
the ram could be faster speed but then you would need different ram and mobo probably. Sounds like a pretty decent setup you have tho
