Well the final part came in today. When they say the ifx-14 is big, they are being modest. That thing is huge. Also when I was openning up the accessory boxes for my m2r, there was ANOTHER thermalright heatpiped heatsink for the motherboards chippery. This is going to take me at least a day to get all the heatsinks properly installed...

The backside heatsink is done.

The main heatsink is mounted, but I have to attach its fans to it.

excuse the poor picture quality. Cell phone cameras aren't that great. If you look closely at the angled view you can see the ram sticks for size comparison purposes. Also, those are full-sized scissors.

Well I got it in the motherboard and screwed down. Tomorrow I'll install the drives, the psu, and do the wiring. Then see if the darn thing posts.

I got it to boot, but the reset button doesn't work for some reason (power button works fine). Does the 2-prong reset connector have to face a certain way...?

Well I'm typing this from the new machine. CPU is idling at under 25C, and the 8800gt is running MUCH cooler than my 8800gts640.

Reset button still doesn't work. Anyone know of any workarounds? I double checked the pinout.

The power button works, thankfully.

ps: Im currently installing orange box, hl1 anthology, and titan quest gold via steam to my gf's new steam account. Hopefully she will have broadband by this time next month and we will have a new community member.

:)

Clay, did you reverse the reset button on the mobo? that could be it. :) If you didnt, then well, gots me. Recently many a problem has arisen that seem to be very unique, kinda like DOWs and his sound problem.

The pin out is just 2, a power and a ground. It shouldnt matter which side the hot is connected to, I dont think...

I flipped it and there was no change. Luckily her previous computer didnt have a reset switch, so she didn't even know what all the fuss was about.

Well it's just a switch, so polarity shouldn't matter. It's possible the switch is bad or something. :?
