is steam down?

everytime i try to connect to steam it says "unable to connect to the steam network 'offline mode' is not avalible because there is no steam log in information stored on this computer.

you will not be able to use steam again until you can connect to the steam network again.

Delete ClientRegistry.blob in c:\program files\Steam

Hm, no problems here, but people on the server can't stay connected, they join then get booted over and over.

yea I have the same prob as taco. first my foward keys got turned into sprint in 1.3 and all caps was stuck on then i quit to retry and my comp froze now it says connection error

There was a client update.
I wonder if that had any effect.

Exit Steam, delete ClientRegistry.blob and go back into Steam.

It was caused by the release of Bioshock. The game. You had thousands of people tring to download 1 GB of the game right at 4pm est (Me among them)
