OLD CPU

Post by Secret Agent Man » Mon May 16, 2011 5:16 pm

I made a computer in 2004 and its still alive and kicking today. I made it when i was 17 and i decided that i wanted to redo the thermal paste for the heat sink. So i take it apart and what do i see? I never installed the heat sink properly, so not only was the heatsink off center, the thermal paste was never touching the CPU... how it lasted this long i dont know. But i re did it correctly today.. and im hoping to see a difference.

Hey, SAM. It is indeed amazing it's still going - CPUs then weren't as powerful as now, but they still made a lot of heat! What proc is it?
