I can't run cp_5gorge in TF2!

So I was happily playing TF2 on TV1, and the server changed to cp_5gorge. When my computer tried to connect, I got an error: Your map [maps/cp_5gorge.bsp] differs from the server's. So I completely existed steam and then tried to reconnect. Same error.

My first assumption was that it was a bug with the latest update; I think this is the first time since the update that I've tried to play that map. But there do seem to be 15 people playing the map successfully, so maybe it just unsuccessfully applied the update for me.

I searched the Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[my profile directory]\team fortress 2 directory with all its subdirectories for the map, as well as some other stock maps and can't find any of them, although other maps do seem to work. I guess they're stored somewhere else.

No, I haven't been mucking around modifying/deleting files in the tf2 directory.

Is this happening to others? Does anyone got any ideas?

Right click on Tf2 in steam.

Click on Properties ---> Local Files ---> Click on Verify Integrity of game Cache

Should fix the problem.

We were alerted to this problem last week.
So to be sure, the existing map for 5gorge was deleted and the latest one taken from VALVe.

So TV1's 5gorge is correct.

Do as Guardian says - verify your cache.
If it still doesn't work, then it confirms my suspicion that some of VALVe's depositories are out of sync...

TF2 stores the stock maps in the .GCF files, which is why you don't see them in the \tf\ directories, and why Verify Integrity is usually the best way to check.

Click on Properties ---> Local Files ---> Click on Verify Integrity of game Cache

I did that, and it told me 6 files failed to validate & will be re-aquired. After I did that, cp_5gorge works fine.
