TF2 Super Borked after update

Post by Guardian » Sat Dec 18, 2010 10:36 pm

Alright guys, I have a really weird problem on my hands.

Right now whether I try to click "Start Playing" in TF2 nothing happens... in addition if I close off Tf2 for a short while it treats me like I'm still in tf2 and if I launch TF2 again I'll be unable to access my steam load-out. The only of fixing the last issue is to close steam.

I can still get on servers using steam's server browser but it's still annoying.

I've reinstalled steam and TF2 and the problem persists.

Help please?

Not sure if it is related or not since I'm playing under OS X, but since the Christmas update came out I'm having issues with the HL2 process crashing after I quit TF2. Similar circumstances as to the lack of a clean exit on quit.

My system doesn't so much crash on quitting, as fail to close the SteamOverlay process correctly when I quit. I have to manually force the process to close at least half the time, or I won't be able to close Steam, or launch any other game. Same timeframe, Win7 64. They really did mess something up a while back, and it hasn't ever been fixed. :-/

This seems to be a common issue as mine crashes on close also.

I used to have a weird issue where upon quitting TF2, Steam would continue showing me playing the game until I went to Task Manager and closed, of all things, the exe for my webcam software :eh3:

Never did figure out what did it. Upgrading to Win7 fixed the problem though.

Even after the updates, I'm still having the same troubles. I have no idea what's going on. Weird since everything on my laptop is running fine,

In the last few days I've seen similar behavior on this computer... again, Win7, where hl2.exe won't properly terminate after exiting TF2 (I noticed it when Steam popped up the "Please close Team Fortress 2 before exiting Steam" message a good half hour after I'd finished playing).

So the new bug today we experienced was a 'healing an enemy spy' bug. A couple people including myself were getting auto healed (with no medic around) as if we were spy and a enemy medic was healing us. As a heavy I had a notice of 1700 hp of 'stolen health' for a single life as heavy, and this was without eating any enemy medic sandwiches. Anytime I would get wounded, my health would just regenerate. Wearing the gloves of running urgently did not decrease my health at all. Until they fix this, I suspect someone will figure out how to reproduce this bug on demand and it will be unbalance things. It certainly allows for pure ownage when you have your own invisible medic on you constantly.

Lately, getting a crate drop is so much of downer because the bulk of key buyers is gone, making them worth less than scrap. They may eventually either give more keys per $2.50 or allow crates to be smashed into scrap. Besides the bug where I recieved ZERO drops during the double drop week, half of my drops seem to be crates still. It makes me wonder if people who have never bought keys are getting more crate drops than other items.

It's a bug with the Medic's amputator taunt. It's really easy to do so hopefully it gets patched soon.

Since when does nobody buy keys anymore? You can always sell crates for scrap.

Also, crates don't contribute towards your item drops for the week, they're seperate, so it's not like getting crates is preventing you from getting a different craftable drop.

He meant trade it to someone for scrap metal.
Carpe himself opens a lot of crates so I'm sure he would trade with you.
