steam not working/blocked?

so for some reason steam is blocked or something (it doesnt work) on wireless at my school, but it works just fine wired and in the dorms. any ideas why/ how to fix/work around it?

Could be that the wireless network is locked down and is blocking the necessary ports. Even if you could work around it, I wouldnt recommend it, you'd probably have terrible ping.

im not too worried about my ping. i just want to be able to connect so i can do steam chat and play my local games on steam (poker night at the inventory, fallout, killing floor, etc) not anything like tf2 or l4d online
