Oh and the no beeping on startup probably means that you dont have a speaker connected to your motherboard. Not a big deal, but you might want to get one just for situations like this in the future.

Can you post pictures of your computer insides? I am a master of the MS paint and can try to do some simple directions for you.

Aaaah that's what it looks it.
Thanks Archon. I looked in and found the hardrive and the sata and power supply are both securely attached. Meaning there must a problem with the harddrive itself

May be but you should check the HD in another PC if its recognized in another PC then think test power supply and Mombo
you can try differnt sata ports and power plugs too

Here is a solution.
Unplug your HDD completely.
Plug in a different HDD with same connectors, and to the same connectors as your primary HDD, and see if CMOS/BIOS is recognising it.
IF that is the case, then you have a dead drive.
If thats not the case, let me know, and I'll see what other diagnostics i can help with
I don't exactly have a HDD on me nor I am I comfortable with getting one from another computer but the CD-rom and HDD use the same type of cable, if I switched the cables and tested it would I be able to see if that's the problem?
It would tell you if a ATA or power cable went bad, i.e. if you swapped the cables and then the HD started working and CD-ROM stopped working.

You're going to need a new HDD anyway from the way things look right now. If by some miracle your old drive can be coaxed into working again you get extra storage. If not, you start from scratch and install on the new drive.
ps: make sure your hard drive gets adequate airflow for cooling. Newer SATA drives can get hot enough to fail prematurely if they dont have airflow.

Well my computer was custom built by a guy who works for my father so I've given it back to him to fix and he has told me most likely he can get the hardrive replaced for free (since it shouldn't give out in less then a year). Either way he'll hopefully fix my computer.
Thanks so the help guys, it was really helpful and I'd still be lost without you.
