I don't quite get how forum points work because sometimes I post and I get points and sometimes I don't so I was just wondering.

Two primary ways
1) Post
2) Receive point donations from other forum members.

You can donate points to other people, or as of recently, use them for placing bets on Ville events.

I am pretty sure you get points for every post, you can donate them or get them donated to you as well.

If I remember right, you also get points when people respond to a thread you started.
