Re: Weekly TV2 seed nights?
I know the steam group is specifically for customs, but it would be nice to just use it to seed the other servers also.
Unless someone objects.

We do have "TheVille Seed Team" group still for that purpose, but I'm not sure anyone uses it these days. It also needs an updated group photo:Blown65 wrote:I know the steam group is specifically for customs, but it would be nice to just use it to seed the other servers also.Unless someone objects.

We've not really encouraged the Seed Team Steam group for a year or two, I don't see why we couldn't.

Re: Weekly TV2 seed nights?
I'm all for seeding TV2.
But I propose we also set some time aside to test out new maps for the rotation that may attract players.
Currently, the map rotation consists of the following, with my opinions in parenthesis:
Toy Fort (which is extremely old and is broken)
Blazewalk (good map, but getting a little stale)
DB Heights (Ruined with the advent of the Wrangler, perhaps even more so than normal Dustbowl because you know where the enemy is going to be)
Waste (Good concept, poor design, a non-standard map type that players might get confused about)
Desert Fortress (Stale, not that it was good map to begin with)
HAARP (Non-standard map type)
Observatory (Again, stale, since the map's been on rotation since, like, 2009)
Labor (Never actually played it, but I'm fairly certain that it was the first custom TF2 map. Ever.)

Something new in rotation would be great, I've not at all kept up with customs maps for a year or two, though. All the good ones I remember from back in the day are now official.

I wouldn't mind seeing Warhammer in the rotation once it goes "final."

Re: Weekly TV2 seed nights?
We had some good recent games in cp_labor before everybody disappeared.
After some update last year, pl_dbheights now features the Stage Three Derp Cart, which is funny, but has driven off random pubbers when it happens.
Toy Fort can get people in, but it's not that good a map. Same thing with Desert Fortress.

Well.......if it hadn't been a certain someone.....someone, it would have been final. F3 is ready, with the fixed corner thingys. I'll probably announce another playtest this weekend.Flash wrote:I wouldn't mind seeing Warhammer in the rotation once it goes "final."

Would be fun just to make a server just like warpath and dustbowl dedicated to that map. What I saw of it seems like it would be pretty popular.

Re: Weekly TV2 seed nights?
Not to jump the gun, but if we do play new maps, what should we test out first?
I was thinking some good ol' Payload. It's popular enough to get people in, I think.
Opinions?

Re: Weekly TV2 seed nights?
I suggested a few payload maps a couple of months ago, and Stevo put them on the server. I suggest starting with these since they're already there.
