Who can find a canoe in the middle of the friggin Pacific Ocean? Keyes can! Seriously man, thanks for what you do. You make saving lives look like it ain't no thang.
lol well to be honest...i was reading a magazine at the time...just had my camera on autoscan...and we didnt even really start the search yet (was the first leg of the last day of searching) i just looked up saw a spot on my camera (really just a tiny discoloration) zoomed in and said...oh hey...i found them...
Just goes to show your chances of being found when lost at sea...if we didnt find them when we did...we would never have...since we were going to be creeping the search away from them...and we had been searching for 3 days prior

So you happened to notice a tiny discoloration in a digital image of pulsing waves, in an area you weren't even really searching, while reading a magazine at the same time, thus saving a dozen people's lives? All that and your reaction was "Oh hey, I found them" to boot. I bet their reaction was less casual than yours when they saw you!
See my previous comment about you being awesome
Out of curiosity, how did those folks end up on Tern needing an airlift? They hit a reef or something?

Re: Generic Video Thread
another CG video...this is SOME of what goes on in south america when i deploy there...now as i'm in C-130s we have one of the more important...but least glamorous job of searching for and tracking the go-fasts for 12 hours and vectoring in these guys...but here is what it looks like after we vector...normally in contact with our high powered cameras giving them details on whats going on in the boat they are shooting at (they are closer...but we can see better!)[flash width=480 height=385]http://www.youtube.com/v/_zcy5r2mrFM&hl=en_US&fs=1&[/flash]
