Introduce yourself!

Hello Villuns!

I'm Otto (previously Autonym - "Self-Named" - but got tired of people not knowing how to say it).

I picked up Orange Box the week it came out, and started playing TF2 a bit after that (had to finish HL2 and Portal first!). I consider myself a pretty decent player (when my damn 'W' key doesn't keep falling off!), but I still have a lot to learn. Being older, my reflexes aren't what they used to be, but I try to make up for it with more strategic thinking.

I registered here awhile back because I kept finding myself playing on TheVille's servers, but wanted to wait a bit to introduce myself, as I wanted to get a feel for the place first, and I wanted my on-line play speak for itself.

I've played with (and against!) some of you for awhile now, and I've enjoyed the friendliness, camaraderie, and most importantly, TEAMWORK that many of the Villun Regulars display. I look forward to getting to know some of you better.

I have a Logitech G35 surround-sound headset that works pretty well, and sometimes can't help but activate the voice-changing feature. Space Squirrel is my favorite. If it really bothers you, let me know, and I'll shut it off, but I'm just having a bit of fun. Isn't that ultimately the point? :)

Uhm, pedestrian details... as I mentioned, I'm "older" (41 as of this posting), I live in Oregon with my wife and two kids (who also play TF2 on TheVille's servers), and telecommute for a company in California. I do network security work - boring mostly, but it pays the bills. When I'm not working or playing computer games, I'm in the back yard plinking with my .22 or 9mm, or spending quality time with the family.

Those items I highlighted in RED, they please me. Great to see a family that does things together, and there is no better family friendly place than the Ville! And he's "older" sweet!!!

Welcome Otto. You'd be surprised at the number of folks here that are right around your age (like me 43) and even a few that are quite a bit older than that. Personally I'm not too crazy about voice mods, but as long as they are used in moderation I don't have an issue with it. Can't agree more, the point is having fun (and capping the point

). Swing by TV8 sometime, lots of good regulars there. I look forward to seeing you in game.

We've had this conversation before, I see the alzheimer's is comming along nicely. They say memory is the second thing that goes. I can't remember the first... Anyway, I'm up in Charlevoix, way north of you on the lovely shores of Lake Michigan.

Charlevioix isn't that in Michigan up on lake Michigan isn't it. Hey by the way Old man I live in Hillsdale its way south of you at the bottom of Michigan.
I can't remember the First either the first of what August?
But they gave me little Diamond shape Blue Pills for it.
But I do not take them any more can't put my pants on right there was always some thing in the way and if it got caught in my zipper it hurt like hell.

I've played with some of you since this posting, thanks for saying "Hi!" in-game.

I'm less happy about the butt-whooping I got on WarPath Saturday night, but dem's the breaks, eh? I've not played that map in forever, and so had to re-learn a lot.

Looking forward to more fun times online!
