Fantasy Football 2015!
Greetings one and all!
The Ville Fantasy Football League has returned for 2015!
This is full on default-setting ESPN Standard Fantasy Football, and we've got 12 slots available.
Who will rise to the challenge and come Beat the Boss this year? For two years my Llamas have reigned supreme. Odds are, somebody will cut me down to size this year. Will it be you? Join the league, test your mettle, and earn points for the Beat The Boss challenge while you're at it!
If you want to join, send me a PM here on the forum with your ESPN account email address, and I'll send you an invite as soon as I can!
(If we fill up completely and have more folks who are interested, I'll re-open our PPR league from last year as well. That one won't count for Beat the Boss, but I'll definitely be happy to play it as well!
--edit--
Beat the Boss scoring:
It was pointed out that win-loss record is not a true measurement of performance in standard FFL, since it can be heavily based on luck with match-ups. This is absolutely true, so we will be using "Points For" as the Beat the Boss measurement. The more points you score, the better you do, regardless of winning or losing!

Re: Fantasy Football 2015!
Great response, everybody! We have one spot left!
As mentioned above, if we have more people interested beyond this, we have a second Ville league (a PPR league) I'll fire up and get underway as well.

Twelve teams filled!
If you didn't get in on this action but are still interested in playing, post here or let me know! If we have enough additional interest, our second league can roll back out as well

Re: Fantasy Football 2015!
Feel free not to give away trade secrets, but as this is the first time I've done fantasy football like this I'm curious about the aspect of the flex position. Historically is there a preference here for a WR or a RB? Is it easier to get points at one position or the other? Or does it really just depend on if your 3rd best RB is better than your 3rd best WR?

So this is so new to me. Watching a Pats game and cheering for Gronk to get points is conflicting for me.
Hey do I win the Internet because I had 3 td Gronk on opening night?

In regards to your question regarding the flex position, it's definitely just situational. Whomever you think is going to deliver the most points gets the call, whether they be RB, WR, or heaven help you, a second TE. Fantasy is all about the points available in any given week, and if you're convinced that Fumbly McSuck is going to outperform Points Godlington due to match-ups, injury, or just your gut, Fumbly gets the call.
