Re: List of Villun of the Month winners
I think there were a lot of good points made in this thread so no need for me to rehash them all.
This was addressed as well, but I wanted to point out that active forum participation is one of the criteria the guilds consider when recruiting. Draw your own conclusions...trilobite wrote:Look at the participation on the forums. Who is posting? Who is responding? Not that many members from the community at large. No, it’s mostly guild members.

It's rigged. There is a purple piece of paper that has list of all the players of the month threw 2025. It all be decided.

Also, I don't really see any reason to lock this thread. Everyone has been civilized in voicing their concerns, there has been no name calling, but I will note, that when ever someone's opinion is challenged, especially by a large group of people, it will tend to breed a bit of animosity in both directions.
Overall, it's been a good discussion to read. Personally, I believe Trilo should have brought up what he thought before we all inferred his reasoning for the post(which in my opinion, most of us got right), but overall, it's discussions like this that seem to be well thought out, and I like that.

Re: List of Villun of the Month winners
To the point some have raised, I won villun of the month before I was a guild member. At that time, and currently still, I was active in the forums. Somewhat unrelated to that, at the time I was given a position of trust as a server admin, I was not a donor to the ville.
Anyway, its nice to see to see the varied opinions here and that the discussion for the most part has been civil. I disagree with the premise of Trilobite's post, but looking at it from another's viewpoint I can see how someone may have drawn that conclusion.
See you all in game! (Except, F13nd. He won't see me until I am spycrabbing in his killcam feed after a backstab.)

Sito this thread was a really complex call towards a membership drive? Just to get more people to finally register on the forums?

Re: List of Villun of the Month winners
I feel, that without the correct knowledge, a situation can look a certain way. I have thought "Gee, it seems like the same dudes everytime." Then I look back and see that just cause I've been here for a couple years and posted a bit doesn't entitle me to VOTM. These guys have hosted events, helped people, and the so forth. I'm not saying people who haven't won aren't really cool and hip, but these people give 120%. Personally, I'm hoping to be here for a bit or til the other villuns can't stand me, so it would be nice, but I don't need a colored square beneath my name to tell me I'm a member of a great community.
I'm not too good with words but I tried not to offended anybody.

OK, we've had some good discussion but there is no reason for this to start getting personal.
