Also while I was speaking to Checkm8 he mentioned Will T. knows a thing or two about 3D modelling. If someone's friends with him and would like to ask his input that would also be great.

It's very easy for me to turn a design from Solidworks into machine pathing. If he knows Solidworks or can import to it from what he's used to working in we can make a very intricate, crazy awesome design.

After talking to eumoria et al, here's a rough draft of the medal. I can add more details (fire background, machine guns, potato cannons, etc), I just want to see if this is sorta what people were thinking of. The image is embedded in the spoiler, and I've linked it below. Suggestions please!

eumoria and hucares, I do 3d CAD in Solidworks all day long at work and I love doing it. I'd be happy to refine that design into something that is more manufacturable for a CNC. eumoria, if you can let me know what size pieces you have for scrap, I can design a few different things to fit those pieces. Unfortunately, I do not have experience with MasterCAM so I can't really help in creating the tool paths for a 4 or 5 axis machine.

Hey guys big update:

My company finally shut it's doors so I won't be able to do most the individual projects you guys sent me. I'm really really sorry I was under the impression from management that we would remain open until all the units were completed...

This was not the case.

This doesn't mean I cannot still do the main project for the cup, though!

I have a few co-worker friends that own home machines and I can still do a project on that!

MrBlah!! That's awesome! Try to get in touch with Hucares and let me know what I can do to help the process. This will be a 3-axis mill I am working on (for sure now) so we'll keep it within those constraints.

Would you want to create the toolpath? If not I just need a model I can import into MasterCAM or another CAM software that can output Techno/Isel toolpathing. Our posts along with Isel are(were:() available in most CAM software. We based our machines off of Isel (a German CNC manufacturer who we were partnered with) so they're compatible.
