Never Ending Fight Thread

Here is the basic idea. The first person in the thread (that would be me) posts a hypothetical fight:

(Object / Person / place / thing) vs (Object / Person / place / thing)

The next person to post says who / what would win said fight, then posts their own. If you want you can explain why you picked the winner, but that isn't necessary.

The only thing that is required is that you pick a winner then post a new fight. If you forget to do either the next person in the thread is responsible for picking up the slack.

So I shall begin this with:

Batman Vs. Spiderman

Spiderman, because batman doesn't have any super powers.

Spy vs Spy

USS Iowa vs. Yamato

Spiderman, because batman doesn't have any super powers.

Spy vs Spy

psh he wouldnt win because batman doesnt have any super powers. he kinda does. highest fighting skill, mater tactician, reflexes etc. batman would be able to more or less counter/avoid spidermans advances. spiderman would only win because he has a degree of precognition so could pretty much dodge every move batman does. would still be a pretty close fight

USS Iowa vs. Yamato

Assuming we're talking about their configuration at time of launch, this is a very difficult pick. The Yamato has more large caliber guns, and carries a small complement of aircraft, while the Iowa is a somewhat faster and has slighty thicker armor. I guess because you wouldn't be going full speed in battle, and more hits will yield more chances for critical damage, plus the proven vulnerability of capitol ships to aircraft, I have to give the very slight edge to Yamato, given equal seamanship of their captains. That could change if the Iowa has a significantly tighter turning radius than Yamato, but I can't locate that information.

Henry Ford or Thomas Edison.

Strike one against Edison.

This picture of Edison betrays features similar to the photograph that Bronze Fox posted of himself:

This is suggestive of a familial link between Bronze and Edison. Assuming this to be true and knowing what we know of Bronze Fox, Edison most likely suffered from severe and crippling genetic abnormalities that have been hidden from the public.

Strike two against Edison. Henry Ford emerges the victor.

the planes are scouting float planes (both yamato and iowa carried a few) not the kind to go on a run against a battle ship. Other factors: the Iowa had fire control radar...meaning it could fire OTH, while Yamato relied upon the scout planes...or LOS...and more guns mean nothing if you cant bring them to bear in time...I think the real tie breaker though would be the support fleets...and at the time the US rolls out with the Iowa class...we had the superior fleet (I mean you had gung-ho CG captains taking their DE's to attack Battle Cruisers...and win!)

It is just moving so fast. I just spent a lot of time typing up a detailed Ford vs Edison answer only to click submit and see several responses in the meantime. I then did a detailed response to Ryu vs Ken and once again it was out dated. I'm going to wait till 4am when I'm the only person on the interweb then I'll answer one.
