I pray for you swift recovery Rigges. As soon as you feel well enough, get out of the hospital. It's safer at home and you're less likely to catch another bug.

Once you're off the antibiotics, don't forget to eat yogurt with active cultures, and/or drink Acidophilus milk. Here's why: The antibiotics kill everything in you system, the good and the bad (which is useful when the bad guys have the upper hand). After you stop treatment, your body is effectively sterile inside, so it's important to reintroduce good bacteria into the digestive system so that you don't get sick from bad bacteria finding there way in first. The good bacteria aid digestion and support your immune system.

Get better soon Rigges !

An infection in the leg sucks, but as long as the antibiotics can beat it you should be back to normal soon. It beats a clot / DVT which would have you on anticoagulants for the rest of your life.

When I had my DVT the first doctor treated it as an infection and that delayed the proper treatment by a week, so by the time we got to treating the clots it was too late, much vascular damage was done and its pretty much irreversible.

Get well soon and get home as soon as you can, whenever I am in the hospital I always worry about picking up something else while I am there so I dont care to stay too long if at all possible.
