I liked it so far... i thought the "lone Jap in the water part" was sad.. (didn't want to spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet) But im sure the same wouldv'e happened in different rolesA 10-part mini-series from the creators of "Band of Brothers" telling the intertwined stories of three Marines during America's battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.

Yea I watched it. It looks cool and a lot different than Band Of Brothers in a good way. Even though it was odd that like a week earlier I saw a deal about that battle on the history channel. It shuld be interesting to see how it goes cause will it be about a single unit or a combination of several units.

Its actually going to focus on three individuals I cant remember the charter names but I think that they are in different platoons. In any case I was super stoked about this show. I have been watching all the details and previews on On Demand...First show was first rate cant wait to see the next 9!

It's also been re-playing on HBO steadily since then, it's actually on right now.
I absolutely loved Band Of Brothers, I bought the box set as soon as it came out, hopefully The Pacific will find a home next to it.
The first episode was good, I did enjoy Currahee a bit more, but thats apples to oranges.

Being a huge fan of Band of Brothers, I have massive expectations for The Pacific.
I really enjoyed the first episode, was surprised that they went into battle so fast. In retrospect, the Currahee episode of BoB was fantastic (frustrating the first viewing though, because I just wanted to see action.) I was expecting much of the same for this one, but the way the characters were introduced and sent out to battle without much information on their backgrounds and lead up to the war made me realize that this is going to be a different kind of series. Like Betty said, apples to oranges.
I don't have HBO, but the episode was available for download before it even finished airing here in Canada. So I should be able to get my fix late Sunday night.
Stoked for the next 9.

Re: The Pacific
Not bad. The end of the episode came too fast but I guess that's a good thing.
Re: The Pacific
If only I had HBO . . . Well, at least it’s good to see it take place in the Pacific; too few media acknowledge, let alone honor, the Pacific War. The whole lot of them were always focused on Europe.
