Explain your username/tag/handle

Simple, explain the handle you game with, what (if anything) it's from, why you like it, when you started using it, ect. Doesn't have to be an amazing story or anything, but it'd be fun to hear where everyone's came from, I'm sure we all know some of them from playing with each other, but I know there are a lot I don't know the story behind. Sorry if this has been done before, but if it has, it needs to be done again.

I'll start.

Dirty Dan
From Spongebob Squarepants. Ah, the show hasn't aged a bit since I was 13 :D. Okay maybe a little bit, but I still like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ewyHgGu4OY
I thought it sounded funny so I stuck with it, I probably first used it around 2005.

I also use Riggaberto for most website user names & some games since Dirty Dan is often taken. My sisters were looking up baby names online, and the site broke it down by region, and "Riggaberto" was somehow listed as the Italian equivalent of Robert, my real name.

Yoo?

Cpt. Winky-

I love Ace Ventura, like a LOT. I used it, mostly because it was funny, but when you are killed by someone named "Death4All<XX>", its not nearly as demoralizing as being killed by someone named "Winky".

I used to use Poisoncontrol91, because when I was young I thought it sounded cool and tough, but the character limit made it into 91 instead of 911.

by Aez
Aez originated from my brother. I had installed Warlords Battlecry on my computer and was making a hero. I typed in "Alex" (my name), then ran off to the bathroom without pressing enter. My 10-year old (at the time) brother thought it was hilarious that he changed it to "Aez" and entered it. Of course, this would end up being my favorite and best hero in that game, so I kept the name. Also, I usually append VvV to it when "Aez" is taken or they require more than three letters for a name. VvV was my original clan in Londinivim.

by Princess
I'm considering changing names. The meme my name originated from is long dead and has stopped being funny. I changed it a bit, since if it was "Well/Hey! Excuse me, Princess!" there is no good acronym or shortening of the name. It turns awkward and the whole phrase ends up being said every time. With it as "Princess, Excuse Me." not only does the phrase make sense, but it shortens easily to Princess, still portrays the original intent, and easily shortens further to PEM (discovered later when that caught on). I might shorten it to just Princess, since I think it still works on all the levels I like:

-Being killed by a Princess is not rad.
-I'm very clearly a dude, and tend to chitchat a lot, making it even more obvious. My voice is pretty bloody far from feminine as well. I also tend to let some uh, words that you're not supposed to say on the server slip by kind of frequently. My bad.
-People calling me Princess is the bomb.
-Plus, as a bonus, Princesses are my favorite class in 7th Dragon, the Japan only DS JRPG made by Rieko Kodama (Phantasy Star, Skies of Arcadia) and Kazuya Niinou (Etrian Odyssey).

So yeah. Might just be Princess one of these days. If I could I'd just change it to the name I use for everything else (TenLetters, unless it's taken, where upon I use NineConsonants, FourVowels, or FourSyllables), but Princess has apparently caught on already in the community, if at least a little bit. Becomes awkward if ya change it.

by Spectral Fire
I came up with Spectral Fire when I started doing things on the internet. Probably came up with it about 6-7 years ago. I wanted to come up with something that was different enough that it wouldn't be taken on most sites, not something generic. Chose it because the concept of ghosts is cool to me and I like fire. and "Spectral Fire" sounds so much cooler than "Ghostly Fire"

I used to use the word Gank quite a bit in middle school and high school. In the original sense of the word which is to take something. The on the school bus one day around 98 or so we were for some reason or another adding iz's to words. you know those young kids and their rap musics. Well on that day on the bus the word Gizanked was formed. I fancied it quite a bit and originally used it for a diablo2 necromancer. It was later then after a few random words I used for tf2 names that i decided to switch it up to gizanked. Its a lot easier for people to recognize you when you always have the same name... Now mind you the WoW term ganking, or getting ganked didn't happen untill at least 2004 when wow came out, 6 years after i had become Gizanked. There was a brief time where i changed my handle to Replica. it came from a fear factory song of the same name and was inspired becase at the time i had played a bunch of gunbound. I looked like everyone else wearing the same gear as everyone else. I thought it fit. With the return of team fortress though I thought it best to bring back the original. You can tell how long people have known me by if they refer to me as rep or giz... and no matter what the name is i am currently using there was always someone that referred to me as the other.

Mine is about a '98 or so as well. Like Winky, I always thought it was lame that people gave themselves names for MP games that were supposed to be intimidating or references to geeky/fantasy stuff. So, when playing Starcraft MP with my friends at impromptu LAN parties I started using the most absurd thing I can think of 'Plinko' and it stuck ever since.

Unlike Plinko, I picked the most fearsome and deadly name possible in order to get an edge up on the competition. My avatar is the muppet Mr. Poodlepants; as you can see, he is also fearsome and intimidating.

"Steve" is a funny name. "io" is a funny suffix.

It only made sense to put them together.
