World War Z

Post by !B a T m A n! » Wed Jan 28, 2009 8:15 pm

Quantum of Solace director Marc Forester’s next project will be World War Z, a film which takes place ten years after the human victory over a world wide Zombie epidemic. io9 got their hands on some rather cool concept art from the film which was drawn by artist Dan LuVisis. Check it out below!

Oh man I loved that book. If done correctly it'll make a great zombie-documentary, like Diary of the Dead but probably a lot more interesting.

I myself have read and am now re-reading The Zombie Survival Guide, which was written by the same author. This is critical information peoples and I must insist every villun reads this book. It could save your life!

The audio book was awesome as well. Alan Alda and Mark Hamil really made their characters believable. I think the audio book is abridged though. I may have to go buy the book just to see what I missed.

I have both books (WW:Z and the Guide) sitting on my desk directly in front of me. I like them very much, and will enjoy seeing them made in to a movie. The key, though, will be to maintain the absolute seriousness of it. It isn't tongue in cheek, it isn't fantastical, it isn't inflated - it's simply documentary style non-fiction.

A valid point there Shimmy. Night of the Living Dead started the zombie trend in cinema. But Resident Evil started the trend in recent games. Somewhere along the line they met and stole ideas from each other. I don't know about the books, but now that you guys recommend them I'll go check them out.

Well, everything has to start somewhere. Things usually can only get better. We wouldn't have TF2 here today if it weren't for earlier games.

I'll have to see if I can pick the book up someplace.
