As long as there is not a playoff, everyone was shafted before the season even began~!
Bah, I'm still upset over Texas getting shafted.

I am going to root for Alabama because Florida's won it recently and I like to see new blood in the mix.
Also, people who went to Alabama can hit me with sticks from where I work and live, while all the Florida fans I know live far far away.

You know what just occurred to me?
This message board has Georgia's old flag (the ugly one from '01 - '03) instead of the new one.

Boo on playoffs just another example of the press wanting to have more to do with stuff. I love how before Oregon State lost all they could say was you dont have to win a conference to go to the title game. But as I recall it was the fact that Oklahoma went to the title game after not winning their conference that the AP stoped being part of the BCS formula. Either way ROLL TIDE
Formula? What? Wait, you mean to tell me..
How does this formula work? Or is like the KFC recipe?
Part of it's like the KFC recipe (computer polls), except no one likes the taste of that part.
1/3 ESPN Coaches poll
1/3 Harris Interactive poll (media/former players/other people)
1/3 Algorithm based Computer polls (average of 6 computer rankings, after dropping the best and worst ranking of the 6)

Sadly, I have no idea what my own state flag looks like. If they got the Wisconsin flag wrong, I would know.
JB, how would having a playoff mean the media get more say? The AP asked out of the BCS because they felt it was wrong that members were influencing what happened to teams they cover. A playoff would lessen the impact of the polls on the national champion, since several teams would get a shot.

The BCS is a broken system that arbitrarily decides who gets to play for the championship. Why let some voters who are potentially uninformed about football make stupid arguments about which 1-loss team, 2-loss team or undefeated team is better? Let the teams decide it on the field. Div I-AA has a playoff system and there's no question about who's the champion in the end.

Re: Alabama vs. Florida
Call me psychic.
I knew this thread would veer off into a discussion about the BCS and a playoff system.
Has there been one football fan to champion the BCS? Auburn got royally screwed a few years back (I think that was '04).
Auburn went undefeated; however, a team that didn't even win their division championship got to play for the national championship. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

I think bare minimum you HAVE to win your division to play for the national championship.
