Re: Wolf spider
Indeed!! A very cool pic!!!
Kate, don't be fooled by size though. The Brown Recluse is not all that big [about the size of a quarter - out to the end of the legs), but packs a powerful punch! The Black Widow is also not much bigger, but has a mean bite too!!

Re: Wolf spider
I just got to agree with Beeron aswell. We were pressure washing our house in Delta BC and a wolf spider about an inch longer than my thumb came skitterring out a crack. Scared the crap outa me! Just cant stand spiders.

Re: Wolf spider
I just saw a great big ole brown recluse scamper into my garage, so spider pics are not appealing right now. Great shot though!
I'm spraying again tomorrow and will be imagining things crawling on me all night.

Awww. That is a really amazing picture, thanks for sharing Kate. I saw one close to that in the Muskoka's a few days ago. I'll have to upload some pictures.

Re: Wolf spider
Was that picture taken with a digital? Nice macro.
I used to work at a job jacking up houses that were just full o' spiders. I'd have to crawl on my belly underneath the floors and just get coated with them. Sometimes one would bite me and swell all up and hurt etc.
I can't stand to look at them they freak me out so much. I'd just block it out and keep pushing forward!

yes, it was taken with a digital SLR camera. I'm sure the picture could've been better had I taken the time beforehand to really figure out all the settings. My old digital was ...how should I put it gently...little hands do funny stuff...anyway, I got this one just in time for my little one's 4th birthday but have been so busy in between that I never bothered to check out all the features...and so when I needed to use the super macro I just had the hardest time ever to keep/get the spider and the babies in focus, I had to use the manual focus 'cause this thing got so confused and wouldn't automatically focus.
Anyway it's a Fujifilm S6000 (i think, i'm gonna have to double check, but it's not within sight now.) oh and the battery life is ...to die for
so much better than any of my other digital camera's (this is my 4 one
the last 1 was destroyed..very painfully and is now lying on a tray in million pieces but the other 2 was donated to family members).
