Ozzfest
Ozzfest
Since someone started a Lollapalooza I was going to see if anyone is going to Ozzfest. I already got my tickets, it will be my third time. So is anyone else going?

lulz
As much as I am aware of that I don't like any of those bands...minus lamb of god and I can make exception to hatebreed. Yet again I refuse to go to Ozzfest after these pricks decided to start a moshpit near 3 girls against a guard rail and trampled two to the f'in hospital. Gutless...so gutless the guys I was with beat the living hell out of these gutless guys.

Supposedly yes...who seriously knows. They said last year was suppose to be the last one due to dying sales and thus why they gave away a crapload of free tickets this year. Either way it had a good run, but the more bands they added the more money you had to take. I would take $200 to Ozzfest and be left with .5 cents at the end of the night.

lol thats why you drink and eat in the parking lot. Last time I went I got away with only spending about $40 minus the ticket I got food (for me and a friend) and a shirt.
As for the girls that got sent to the hospital that sucks for them, but you really have to know where not to be at these kinds of things if you don't want to end up in a pit. Usually people are pretty cool in pits and help you up if you fall, but those guys really sound like jerks.

Nah man I understand that and all since I fell victim of being kicked in the head while moshing and i don't blame the guy for doing it since i was pretty much in mosh pushing people and all.
Regis knows the venue that Ozzfest is hosted in Massachusetts (Tweeter Center) and the weird part about the Tweeter Center is there is no real available area to go moshing.
This is the seating plan for Ozzfests main stage at the Tweeter Center
http://static2.livenation.com/akamai/V0 ... 1909_1.jpg
The seating areas are off limits for moshing since there is jacked up security around the areas. The only feasible area for moshing is on the lawn. The problem with the lawn is its on a steep hill that has absolutely no footing and at the time that area was tore up with rocks, dirt, and not a great place to stand. If someone bumped into you chances are you'd fall. These girls were leaning against the guard rail at the end of the lawn, and all of a sudden we see those guys who started to mosh right next to the girls leaning on the guard rail and all of a sudden the crowd got bigger and 3 guys nearly crushed the girls. It's just not a great place to host a rock concert knowing the type of audience. In fact I am kind of upset the Warped Tour will be hosted there as well.

Wow that venue is pretty jacked up. The one here in CA has a huge lawn area that doesn't slant down that much with seats near the front, the second stage area is fairly good sized, but the ground is all dirt.
And yeah that was stupid of them to start a pit considering the surroundings.

See those are my favorite areas to do a mosh pit in a grassy area. There is a local concert here called Locobazooka, and I went three times. The first time was in a huge park in Worcester I think or up near that area, but the area was pretty small as well so you couldn't really fill a huge crowd. The ground was all grass and hay. They then moved it to a bigger location at Fitchburg Airport. That's right an airport which isn't a really busy one, and it was a huge field so they held I think 3 more concerts there before they moved to the Tweeter Center. I can no longer go to a concert in Massachusetts and have a mosh :\

Yeah, the Tweeter Center sucks (IMO.) I remember Ozzfest '03, the tore up and were throwing the sod from that lawn section in the back. I always prefered the other stage(s) at the Tweeter though.
Despite the drive, for me, going to the Vans Warped Tour wasn't bad. Which is hosted at the Patriots' Foxboro Stadium... parking lot.
I still like the smaller venues in Boston though: Axis, Avalon, DCU & Palladium (in Worcester), etc, etc..
Boston local bands kick some serious [expletive deleted].
