Account Hijacking

I have fallen prey to the account hijacking despite 116_mmx's warning. It was Bob the Builder that contacted me, but I am sure he has had his account stolen.

Also, [tibs]rocky told me that novacaine tried to get him to do the same thing, so his account was probably stolen as well.

Very sorry to hear that Wirtz. When would you say for sure that you lost control of your account? Did you join The Ville Day of Defeat: Source Players Steam group, or was that the thief?

I just received a few IM's from both IronWolf and Novacaine indicating a URL to get free Steam games. Knowing both of them, I thought this sounded pretty odd. They both appear to have had their accounts hijacked.

This is an obvious phishing scam attempting to steal your Steam account information. Be wary of any links IM'ed to you and DO NOT visit this site.

best to remain informed about this sort of thing. so far no one has sent me anything phishy, but will definitely be on my toes.
