Valve Endorsed Custom Campaigns

Since Valve hasn't had any endorsed campaigns lately, I've decided to change this into a general custom campaign thread. When I have time, I'll try campaigns that are highly rated and post their details here.

------------------------------------------

OK, since the City 17 download was corrupt for some people, I uploaded the working copy I had to my web space so people could download it. Since mine would be a ton faster, I've decided to start a thread that will house the links to those campaigns.

To play a custom campaign, simply download the zip file and unzip the .vpk file to your Addons folder. For example, C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons. Once the .vpk file is in that folder, the addon is technically installed. However, you may want to double click on it just to make sure.

I will be listing the custom campaigns in reverse chronological order. So, the newest ones will be listed first.

One 4 Nine
Valve wrote:The new featured campaign is Kev Edwards’ awesome One 4 Nine. What’s not to love? You have an Army base in the Nevada desert housing an ancient “alien tomb”. We have been digging Versus in this campaign but coop and survival modes are also available.

Dead Before Dawn, Too

City 17
Valve wrote:The new featured campaign is City 17. If it seems familiar, it should, it is based on Half-Life 2: Episode 1. While it is may be lacking Gordon, Alyx, and Barney it’s not lacking zombies. And no, they aren't your head-crab induced zombies, these are full on Left 4 Dead 2 zombies.

This 5 map campaign offers great Coop and Versus gameplay.

Thanks T, much in the way of win here (and 800kbps doesn't hurt, either).

Thanks sir ! I am downloading them and perhaps tomorrow we can play some more custom levels. I enjoy City 17, perhaps not on expert but I enjoy it :) I would love to do some vs on it !

I'd love to try City 17 Vs.

I'd also really like to try doing Advanced/Expert campaign for Detour Ahead (and I heard it has vs. support, too). Did it SP normal once and it's a really good (much better than City 17 IMHO).

Hmm, my experience playing Detour Ahead was that on the first level, immediately after turning the first hairpin, I fell behind some rocks from which there was no escape, and was trapped until I quit the game :-P

I guess I should give it another try.

I would probably enjoy doing a campaign on either of these, if people ever play campaigns anymore. Give me a shout if there's plans to do so, and if you don't mind me being semi-fail!

We do campaigns at least every other night, sometimes every night :-) If you're online, I'll ping next time we're prepping a team.
