Yeah, I'm pretty sure safe room time is included. That's probably half the reason we were able to get a few runs that low, we never waited for all four to load... first one to load gets out of the room and starts moving, and the rest catch up as they load in. Usually the difference between fastest to slowest loader was maybe 10 sec, which meant each person was within maybe 3-4 sec time wise of another, so it wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately, that strategy doesn't work well if someone loads significantly slower than the others... sorry Ham.

We need a plugin that times the map run from door open to door close. I wonder how difficult it would be to write one.

Hey, It is what it is. I didn't realize how much slower I actually was. I just know I'll never beat the records, but I have gotten better by doing this. My biggest problem is trying to kill the tank, when I can just run past him. There's just something about letting him live.

To Giz's point, I agree. These speed runs will help improve vs play for some people, me for one. If for nothing else, I like doing it just to get better with helping my team.

Yeah but it gets even more intense/exciting when you're running ahead of him and making sure he doesn't catch up.

That was fun, I think melee only is a blast and a interesting twist on a speed run.

I am not sure how the bridge on parish would be on melee only or say the finale of swamp, but its always fun to try :)

two speed runs this afternoon :)

The players were:

Refuel
JD
Yellow Sub
Super Stevieo


We did Dark Carny in 20, could have been a tad quicker if we started the event earlier.
We did the passing in 15, not sure where we could have saved time there.

Was lots of fun, we were semi FFA.

Still I found the most fun in speed runs is melee only :)

|3ee and I were playing some L4D the other night on a pub server and it had all sorts of stats and rankings. The coolest part, however, was the timer it had. When you closed the safe room door, it would pop up your total time for the map. We need to find out how to do that for L4D2. Then you could post your screenies for individual segments.

Seeing Bikers thread about his video card made me spec out a new machine through newegg. Maybe one day I will get a 4 core proc at the house. Too bad the wife doesn't need it to surf the internet.
