Survival or Versus

I personally like survival and find versus too frustrating when your losing.

So far i'm finding survival to be infinitely funner than anything in l4d.

What i expected when i first heard about l4d i was expecting relentless zombie attacks, and thats all this game mode is

I know I'm gonna be in the minority, but I'm still in the versus camp. Love playing as the Infected and against actual smart enemies as Survivors.

i love playing as infected, but i'd like to at least see see all the survival maps

I like Survival better, but this is based on the fact that I usually play Survival with Ville people and I usually play Versus with pubs (I find it hard to find versus games with Villuns). I find playing as humans more fun (and more team-intensive) than playing as Infected. The teamplay is one of my favorite aspects of the game. While teamplay is arguably less emphasized in Survival (my opinion), Survival also has the advantage of strategy in explosive/flame placement and holdout placement.

Versus with pubs is alright as Infected. Your allies may not work with you, but it's pitifully easy to completely take out a survivor. Playing as Survivors, on the other hand, sucks. Your teammates are oblivious to any knockdowns, tonguing, or pounces unless they happen right in their face (and even then, they sometimes ignore it). Also they have a tendency of running ahead alone, sticking around behind alone, and utterly lacking coordination with the larger group. All these downsides exacerbate the existing flaws of Versus - that it easily becomes unbalanced, and that it takes forever. So, I suspect that I would enjoy Versus far more with Villuns, but it still takes more continuous time than I prefer.

I agree. Plus, I love the concept of being able to play for like 20 minutes then leave without feeling bad about leaving people to deal with a bot. hah.

Survival is everything I want in a zombie game. Co-op, strategy, and ENDLESS ZOMBIES. Playing as infected is fun, but survival mode is in my eyes the true zombie setting, in both games and movies.
