Blutsauger is only truly useful in medic vs. medic or pure battle medic (something I don't think actually exists).

Battle Medic is achieved with 2 or more battle medics who are chaining ubers.

Ubersaw = win. At the end of an uber push, there is generally an opening for a couple ubersaw strikes. Snipers or players just on the outside of the scene may not even be aware you are hunting them down. Surviving with the added uber charge is the tricky part, and the most important. If I am in a really bad spot, I will try to survive rather than get 4 full hits & uber right away. Even 1 hit for +25% makes a huge difference in the timing of ubers/counters. A dead medic is a dismembered team.

Whichever way you play, medic is key. Dat quickfix tho. . .

As people have said, the blutsauger is nice when you need to backpeddle around corners away from pyros and scouts who have killed your pocket. For a medic who plays really defensively and doesn't take much damage or is usually protected by a high-skill pocket, the blutsauger is a solid choice. However, you pretty much have to play more defensively because any damage you take is going to take a lot longer to regenerate. In my opinion, its just not worth having to hang back and deny your frontliners heals because you chose a weapon that you hopefully shouldn't be using too often.

interesting, I'll try switching out my blutsauger for something else to see how I feel about the quicker regen, but slower health regeneration is *easily overcome by shooting a string of needles into an area frequented by enemies, like down a hallway or at a corner.
