If you don't practice this, and you don't warn your Medic first, you can send your Medic flying off to his doom, mostly on maps with giant cliffs. Which is several.

I hear the medic actually tends to go further. Might be intentional so they can make the same ledge as the soldier they're trailing.

In my experience, it depends largely on whether the medic jumps when the solly/demo jumps. If he did, then he would fly a lot further than if he didn't.

I think it has something to do with the medic being lighter/faster
