Force Jumping, a.k.a. the Super FAN Jump

Post by Cambietto » Thu May 20, 2010 12:45 am

I did a bit of searching on how to do the force jump, and found this neat tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29oTCQIKp9Q.

It’s not the regular double-jump-then-fire-directly-below FAN jump. It’s the technique that I witnessed some players were able to do, and I’ve always wanted to know how they do it. So now I want to show others who don’t know of this yet how to do the force jump.

Basically, the premise is you run full-speed and immediately crouch-jump and fire at the same time. However, instead of firing directly below you—at 90 degrees from your perpendicular line of sight—you have to do so at approximate 45–50 degrees angle below that.

As much as I play scout I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even know how to triple jump until watching that. Then again, I haven't ever really found myself needing it.

Very helpful. When I find myself tinkering around with the scout I'll have to give this a shot. It's fun to move from your favorite classes onto classes you don't play much and makes the game interesting again.
