Well you won't be focusing on one guy (did I mention that in the article?) but will be focusing on heavy classes since they'll want to stick closer, that's pretty much I said 1 heavy per medic, if your trying to heal 4 guys on ctf_turbine and one a heavy, he'll take a while to get to full health, try that with 2 heavies and it becomes a nightmare.

I do not ambush as a pyro...never have...i'm a frontal assault and with the exception of heavies and snipers...you can completely negate the effective damage of the enemy (many pyros have 0 clue on how to use reflect) snipers are also easy to negate by the application of a few flares (of which i have gotten the aim to almost i can snipe with them) and with the heavy...his damage spread can also normally be negated by raining flares on him and moving. If you want to make a guide about the class...you need to make the guide on the potential of it...not make a guide stating the lazy already known w+m1 tactic...pyros who do that are laughable...and need to stick with ambushing and their backburner

I can confirm that these instructions work well and the results can be replicated.

Good writeup Guardian. I agree with most of what you said about general team composition and class delineations. However, in my personal opinion team composition varies greatly based on map and situational needs and it is extremely hard to come up with a perfect general formula for team composition.

Playing style, and team work is one of the most important things to consider. I love playing with the same group of guys all the time because you learn how they play classes differently. For example, knowing which Soldiers you can count on to stick with a Medic and build an uber, vs your extremely offensive soldiers that like to scout and take down buildings/flank, etc. I am one of those kinds of players. I very rarely like having a medic attached to me, it feels like way too much responsibility to have to look out for such an important member of the team.

Keep in mind that the point of Guardian's write up is to lay out a basic team structure and that things change. Basically, no team ever needs 3 snipers. A healthy balance is key to a successful team. After that, the situation and skills of the players involved will help to dictate the outcome.

Cheers
