Best pyro guide ever

Post by Guardian » Tue Apr 28, 2009 11:20 pm

It covers everything from the flare gun to the backburner to the many uses of the airblast and pyro rocket jump

There's nothing in this guide that isn't said that helps out a pyro.

I watched all three volumes a few days ago and one thing i thought was glaringly missing was the best way to deal with other pyros. I dont play the class too much but other pyros are by far the most annoying adversary for a pyro.

Airblast + shotgun

If your wondering.

Works best on pyros who like to us the regular axe on you

Fail guide has no fire axe coverage.

I probably kill more Pyros than anything else with the axe. Since you don't keep burning afterwards, you'd be surprised how little damage you can take against another flamethrower with some fancy footwork and an axe.

Unless you like face a pyro who like... airblasts you away and he suddenly whips out the shotgun while your in the air and blasts you while your helpless and repeats it till your dominated..... on cp_well.... in some kind of event......in total warz.

Then it wouldn't work so well.

I actually prefer trying to out burn them and losing every time...I'll have to try this.

My typical solution to Pyro vs Pyro is to Airblast and run away and call for help. Most of the time the fight ends up in a near draw for me, and I really just think my "life" is better used trying to take out something I have a better chance against.
Just like when I play scout, I very rarely try to take out Sentry Guns, its just not practical.
