A new Custom Maps thread.

I did speak with one of the admins in game I believe, but for what its worth I'll post it here.

IMO, and I think alot of other players, Congo is a terrible map. Whenever the server switches to the map, most everyone complains, and half the people log off and leave the server, sticking us with infinite range bots hehe. At any rate, my vote would be to remove this map from the lineup, as I think the majority of the people dislike it (sorry if you do!).

As for a possible replacement, would be the Source redone and oldschool CS_Siege back from the original HalfLife1 CS days. Here's an image of the old CS_Siege map from CS1 for reference:

I think it would be an awsome addition as it was a great map back in the day, and pretty long and wide open to make for fun with the RPG mod, as well as lots of dark corners, and a dark sewer.

A search for CS_Siege at www.planethalflife.com should pull up the Source maps for download, and looks like bot waypoints as well, thanks!

I do agree that Congo isn't such a great map. I'm all for having Siege put on the server (I completely forgot about that map.) But it's all up to the admins as the whether or not this will happen.

I found 3 maps that correspond to cs_siege (((CLICKY)))
I have no idea which one it's supposed to be though...

Hey PacoDeath!!! Welcome to the forums!

I do remember this conversation, however I forgot to mention it to the admins :( Congo is a horrible map, in my opinion, and needs changing. One of the other CS:S RPG regulars mentioned a really nice source version of cs_seige, I forget what its called exactly. His name was Chief of Control.

I stuck cs_siege_sp on as it seemed to be the most popular amongst clans out there. If you find a better version, let me know.

It's random.
It will appear occasionally.

Having said that, get to know your Admins

cool thanks for all the help. One of you guys (sorry can't remembe which), jumped on right after my last post and switched the map, thanks! It was fun playing the map again, although there is a tend for the CT's to camp on top of the roof of the building, so its a bit CT friendly, but gives a good struggle for T's.

Only real difference I see is the hostage rescue zone is right outside the garage, while it used to be all the way back at the CT spawn!
