Left4DOD How do I play it?

Is there going to be source TV/spectating for this? Zork was kind enough to gift me DOD recently and watcihng this might be a good way to help me understand how to play.

Shoot undead. That's all you really need to start. If you want someone to play with, give me a holler on steam and I'll hop on with you. Can't say I really know too much, but I know more than nothing.

There's not much to learn in terms of gameplay. It works like TF2, you find a Command Point, capture it, move to the next. All the while killing and being killed. Kind of like Battlefield meets TF2?

Play Coop first and learn how to play the Americans.
Then you can get a feel for the tactics and teamwork needed. TV15 has lots of teamwork!

Yeah, I hadn't played L4DoD in months.

The UNG, The Wraith, all the neon lights, the new menu, and the Gas Man changed.... information overload.

all i would say is if its big and ugly run, if it looks like Hitler run, if it as a shovel shoot it, if you see a red flag stand by it until goes green. thats pretty much all there is to it.

Yep!

The 'neon' trails were added because people couldn't see grenades/skulls/rockets in the dark. It makes things more clear. Besides it's pretty

Isn't the UNG just the Gray Man without the power to teleport other zombies?
I got a couple knife kills on him, he wasn't too bad.

The UNG is a friggen zombie tank.

I think he's the only zombie you can't kill with a headshot? I've shot him in the head several times at point blank range, he just keeps coming!

I was really enjoying my play time yesterday. I think my best moment was when another player approached me saying "I need more ammo". I sat there staring blankly at him and then he threw out some ammo at me to help make his point at what he wanted me to do.

I started walking forward to him and crudely tried to gesture that I had no idea how to chat or give ammo and by doing so picked up the ammo he gave me. Its hard to pantomime that I have no idea what I am doing by a series of jumps and spastic crouching, but I think he was duly impressed by the series of events that transpired.

Good times were had by all.
