Re: Zork's Hat Lottery - Less than 24 hours to go!
Less than 24 hours to go, around 8PM EST tommorow I stop taking entries and I craft the three hats. If you want a chance to win one and you haven't signed up yet, now's the time to do so!
This is hard to be cool and suave while being informative at the same time. Goddamn my coolness.

Since I traded for a Copper's Hard Top recently, do you mind if I change my guess, Zork?
If so, I'm going with a Last Breath. If not, no problem!

More guesses as in more people come in and guess or more guesses from the people who have already guessed?

But those are definatetly on the list of hats that can be, so you're in!

Re: Zork's Hat Lottery - Winners Announced
I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with it. I really REALLY want to keep it, but that would mean that i'm screwing someone over. I'm going to hang on to it for now until I can figure out a compromise. Please pitch me suggestions because i'm having a moral conflict right now.
Otherwise, the winners:
TThreaz with the FAST LEARNER for a successful guess
DDYzErO with a NINE-PIPE PROBLEM thanks to RANDOM.ORG
I will contact you for your prize.

Zork,
No moral conflict should be present. You started a contest with a decription of what you were going to do. You took entries, then you crafted the hats. Give the hats away that you crafted. It's a low craft number hat, that's cool, the person on the list that recieves it will, I'm sure, be delighted!

Honestly, just keep the hat. No one guessed it, it was your metal. Keep it.

And to all participants in the contest, thanks for playing, I hope to see you again soon as i'm sure i'm gonna be doing this again. Hopefully with less drama though.

Probably one of the worst replies I've ever seen here.Bronze Fox wrote:Honestly, just keep the hat. No one guessed it, it was your metal. Keep it.

"I'm going to run a contest and give stuff away, unless it's something I really like then I'm not going to follow my own guidelines" Ugh... Normally I would just let this kind of suff go, but really?? These two posts are, in my opinion, the opposite of what the Ville is about. I joined this community because of the people and the way we treat each other. I've given the best deals in trades to fellow Villuns, even to the point of giving away items so everybody here can have fun and enjoy this community.
A "moral" dilemma of this nature is a no brainer. But I guess for some people it's not.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Plas donated the unusual to bring a resolution to this contest... am I right?
DONATED AN UNUSUAL, yea, DONATED AN UNUSUAL, to help out a fellow Villun having a "moral" dilemma. The donator of that hat has the right idea about community.

Re: Zork's Hat Lottery - Winners Announced
Look, i'm sorry, i'm not that strong willed. I'm still not sure if i'm doing the right thing, i'm already having an issue as is. I really wish I could say the right thing right now, but I know I can't because I know whatever I say isn't right.OldMan wrote: "I'm going to run a contest and give stuff away, unless it's something I really like then I'm not going to follow my own guidelines" Ugh... Ok, i'll roll one more time.

I'm going to give it away. If that's the right thing to do, than so be it, if not, I don't know what's right anymore.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here, why is this a problem for me? I've opened hundreds of crates with no success. I've camped out for numbered crafts every single update since their introduction with no luck. I can't even get my money back on scratch tickets. You're talking to someone who spends so much time rolling without anything ever happening. When luck finally does come, it's not my own. When you've lost so much, only to get something that you can't keep, it is extremely frustrating.
I'm not trying to screw anyone, demoralize anything, or anything like that. When you've been through the string of bad luck like I have only to be given something of the sorts that you're not allowed to keep, it can be a really bad feeling.
