I would like to create a TF2 event

I would like to create a TF2 event, specifically a vanilla weapons night on one of the TF2 servers. It wouldn't require anything fancy like signups or teams. My idea was simply having a server running in a manner that only allowed stock weapons (with hats, strange weapons being ok, of course).

I created a thread in the TF2 forum with a poll to gauge interest and it seems like a decent number of people would have an interest in an event like this:

Any thoughts to this being a possibility or how to proceed with implementation?

I think what we really need is an event in which all weapons are banned, but people can just walk around the maps and admire other peoples' hats.

I was going to suggest playing as Civilian, but I don't think hats work for it.

We could just do this tonight informally on TV2 if nothing else.
