Fun/Old Maps Night?
Having poked around a bit in TV2's extensive archive, and knowing a few odd maps from back when, what's the feeling on running a night, sometime soon, of either very silly maps (meleebarn, lolcano) or old customs (rock, busytown)? Or a bit of both?
Or even just mining the maplist for things that haven't been played often?

Yeah we could run crazy modes like cube soccer and prop hunt also. Really dig up some nostalgia.Flaming Cheese Wheel wrote:Having poked around a bit in TV2's extensive archive, and knowing a few odd maps from back when, what's the feeling on running a night, sometime soon, of either very silly maps (meleebarn, lolcano) or old customs (rock, busytown)? Prop hunt made a brief appearance last year; cube soccer is about due for a short revival then. It's also less complicated to implement, IIRC.

Re: Fun/Old Maps Night?
Prop hunt night proved that this idea was valid i think. We couldn't even fit everyone in that match.

Sounds fun. My one request would be to make sure all maps are available for manual download a few days prior.

We can do this easily...
however, cube soccer is kaput.
Just gotta get in the queue, there's lots of stuff being planned.

So many of the old maps are broken or terrible now thanks to updates.
We can always do it informally if enough people are in the server that want to pull up an old map, though it's good if most already have it downloaded!

Kind of late to the part but I'd definitely be up for this.
If we're unable to get the old maps we could even just play maps that aren't that popular at the ville.

Re: Fun/Old Maps Night?
Maps I would definitely want to see run include the aforementioned koth_lolcano_b2, cp_meleebarn (which is already on TV2, I would just recommend limitations on which weapons we can use), and ctf_vikings_final (which is also already here).
There are a few other goodies on TV2, like rats_tequila, which is fun to look at but I've never seen played by significant numbers of people.
And then there's stupid silly stuff like falling_cp and ctf_thegym, which might be fun for about five minutes.
Or this brain-fryer.
