Left 4 Dead Mini Tournament Sign Up
Huh?
Reload your shotguns and heal up! It's time to fight some hordes of semi-dead zombies and of course fellow Villuns. This mini-tournament style contest will consist of two parts, a short round robin segment and a one-off championship bout between the top two teams.
Setup:
- 4 teams, each with 4 players chosen by a team captain.
- Each team plays one another once, on the last 3 maps of Blood Harvest and No Mercy (unless new campaigns are released soon)
- Points are added up for each teams games (a total of 3 games x the final score)
- Top 2 teams with the most points play each other in a final full length campaign championship match
When?
Starting February 8th, at 7PM Ville Time. Depending on how long the matches take, we'll probably throw in a coffee/redbull break at some point.
The final Championship game will be held the weekend after, February 15th.
Signup!
There are a few different roles to sign up for in the tournament. Please indicate your primary choice and a backup option as well. To sign up, simply use the phrase "I hate..." (but insert a word of your choice) in honor of Bill.
What to sign up as:
- Captains have to be willing to spend a bit of time before the tournament choosing a team, and perhaps setting up some strategies. Additionally, its the captains job to get their team organized and ready to play on time. Shouldn't be too hard with only 4 players. Captains also have make sure they take screenshots of each round so they can be tallied up later.
- Players just have to show up on time and show good sportsmanship.
- Subs are players available on the night, but not starting. If someone doesn't show up, you're in!
*The rules and structure of the tournament are not set in stone. Ideas and suggestions are welcome. Because of the nature of L4D, the timing and scoring system of the tournament may prove to be fatally flawed. Please keep in mind that some games may run a fairly long time, especially when trying to play one match against each team.*
The first goal of this tourny is to have fun, anyone up for a few hours of semi-serious competition but entirely serious fun, sign on up!

I shall play. However, it is disappointing that the autoshotty was nerfed on tanks

I am definitely in. As a player.
Edit: In honor of MMX. I hate mornings. (I couldn't think of anything I hate. I only dislike things...I guess this will do.)
Is it Vs mode where one team is infected and one team is survivors or are they running simultaneously on different servers as survivors and comparing points?
I will sign up as a player, I guess this is incentive to play more L4D online.
Well, there'll be four teams. A, B, C, and D. Team A and B play each other, while teams C and D play. Then it switches. Each team will get to play as infected and survivors for the last 3 maps of whatever campaign (just to save time). By having 2 games going on at once, it allows all the "round robin" games to be played in an evening (hopefully).
From my testing and experience, the last 3 maps of a versus campaign can take about an hour or so.
