I don't see an advantage to the ubersaw in MeleeMania, but if some want to use it...I don't have a problem with it.
I'll consult with my fellow TVB'ers for a consensus.
Doesn't the Medic self heal while Ubered? An extra five or ten health could make a difference.

Medic self heals constantly, uber'd or not. I do not think having your uber bar full makes any difference, at least not that I've noticed.

I have a butt and you do too. Let's be friends.
You'd have to hit 4 times to get an uber, would a Medic survive 4 hits? I guess if someone hit an oberving player it could be abused. . .
I think it takes around 2 hits at least and 3 usually to kill a medic, so uber wouldn't matter in the first round. But in the second round when you are most likely low on health, activating your uber with an extra hit would help.
I am assuming you can't hit observers since they would be outside of the melee ring and going out of the melee ring disqualifies you.
Some info for the mathematically curious minds: http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Medic

There are no ubers in MeleeMania.
It's a melee fight to the death for each round. The victor is allowed to fully heal before the next round.
Ian's map does not have weapon restrictions; therefore, everyone will have to cooperate more than in the past. Switching weapons during a match is an instant disqualification.
I also remind everyone that ringside fighting is frowned upon. I will kick anyone who is disrupting the event. If a player returns and continues disrupting the event, a banvich will be served.
Leaving/entering the ring is no longer an issue.
I strongly urge newcomers to read the MeleeMania rulebook.
I can't wait for this MeleeMania!
Gah! It's the first day of the signups, and already three pages?
The only downside is that some won't get to play.
However, there will be many more MeleeManias to come! That I promise.

To participate, a villun must sign up in this thread.
He has until January 9th.
I'm surprised I haven't seen him post yet too. This event is almost tailor-made for the master combat medic.

Re: January MeleeMania signups
I doubt it. Not only does Torven traditionally not take part in most events, he'll also be the firts to tell you he's lost the manual to his Ubersaw. He may be the Ville's most feared combat Medic, but it's for his needles, not his saw.
And if I recall the Medic-self correctly, he heals 1 point of damage every second for 5 seconds, then 2 damage a second for another five, then 3 damage a second until fully healed. The cycle resets every time he takes any kind of damage.

Re: January MeleeMania signups
The Medic regeneration will let you survive another hit if you are lucky. Then of course you could just get critted instead.
